The heart speaks even in work matters

I have managed many projects in my 20 years in marketing technology, working for agencies and corporations, and there was one project recently that I am calling a shit show project. Lots of things went wrong, but a lot of things went well too. It definitely leveled me up. It changed me, and after 20 years I didn't think there would be a project that would change me as this one did.

And I am really proud of the team and how the entire team came together, and we arrived at the other side and it wouldn't have been possible if the team hadn't just gotten together and pulled through to make it happen. It made my heart all warm and fuzzy. Then there was this other conversation I had unrelated to that project, and it had been about process changes that we've been asking for years, trying to change how the company thinks, and it's all good changes because it isn't really about improving the process, improving how projects come in, so the shit show project doesn't happen again. Changes we had been waiting for, and the intent it had been shared with me was to give me hope, right, that these changes are coming in, but my heart was not moved.

I can see the vision, the benefit, but my interest in participating was zero. However, talk to me about this podcast, about clarity architecture, orientation, and that's an entirely different story. My heart comes alive. So what has your heart been saying?

How has your heart been reacting? Let me know.
